Black History Month

In recognition of Black History Month, the Museum presents its temporary exhibit, Jim Crow on Streetcars. Learn about the nature of segregation aboard the cars in 19th century New York, efforts to block the practice as it developed across the South, and eventual success in opening employment opportunities.
 
Visit Street Car Hall and take a ride on the street car. Open 12n to 5pm.

Step Lively Please for the Spring Break Special

Take a break with us! This program features trolley cartoons and story time for children from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Trolley rides are included as well as scheduled visits to Street Car Hall with a docent.

Memorial Day Weekend

Recall the role of the transit industry during wartime. Enjoy Tilley the Trolley and Billy the Bus, a wartime production of the Capital Transit Company, and Ten Seconds to Go, a wartime production of Kansas City Public Service (both at 1:30 & 3:30pm). See a special exhibit, Homefront Street Cars.
 
Ride the streetcar before or after the films. Visit Street Car Hall and see some of our other street cars.
