Jim Crow on Streetcars

In recognition of Black History Month, the Museum presents its temporary exhibit, Jim Crow on Streetcars. Learn about the nature of segregation aboard the cars in 19th century New York, the efforts to black the practice as it developed across the South, and the eventual success in opening employment opportunities.

Spring Thursday-Friday operation begins at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 16. This is a great opportunity for school field trips, home-schooled children, and Moms or Dads (or Grandparents) with happy rail fans as well as curious walk-ins. Look for "Field Trips" (under "Visit") for details about scheduling a group visit. Also open every Saturday & Sunday (12n to 5 pm).
