It’s a summer bash at the trolley museum! Join us as we commemorate 88 years since the arrival of the revolutionary Presidents’ Conference Committee (PCC) car to the city of Washington. In conjunction with this event, the museum is proud to present a new exhibit about PCC cars in Washington DC and around the world. The 3-day PCC weekend will feature something for everyone, beginning on Friday, August 22nd, with activities designed especially for young train and trolley enthusiasts.
On Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th, we’ll be pulling out all the stops for trolley buffs, featuring the operation of four different PCC cars and access to two other PCC cars that are currently being restored, a narrated trolley parade around 2 p.m. each day, photo opportunities inside our streetcars and tours of our maintenance barn where restoration is carried out. In addition, the National Capital Trackers club will set up displays of their model train & trolley railways, and there will be a scavenger hunt for kids of all ages. We will also be presenting the top entries from the DC Dreamin’ video contest, as well as the first in a series of videos highlighting the history of our collection, beginning with our Toronto PCC cars. Be sure to get your tickets now for an exciting weekend you won’t want to miss!
