An exciting DCTS 1430 Restoration Update!

Today’s Trolley Tuesday involves an exciting DCTS 1430 Restoration Update!

As work winds down on painting the car’s underframe with rust-protective coating, we’re getting ready for the next major step: putting the trucks back underneath the car.

That means a little old-fashioned teamwork! Our maintenance volunteers will be pushing the trucks by hand and carefully maneuvering them into position so they can be placed back under the car.

It’s a big milestone in the restoration, bringing #1430 one step closer to looking, and eventually operating, like the PCC it was built to be.

A huge thank-you to our dedicated maintenance volunteers who are putting in the time, muscle, and expertise to bring this historic streetcar back to life!

Every restoration begins with a lot of work behind the scenes, and every step brings us closer to the finished car.
