The National Capital Trolley Museum’s offers a unique venue for your next birthday party, club meeting, professional retreat, filming, photoshoot, and more! Located in the DC area in beautiful Northwest Branch Park, we offer a variety of spaces for events including a large outdoor space in the center of our main rail loop. Birthday Parties + Special Occasions!

Whether you’re celebrating your fifth or fiftieth birthday or any other occasion, make it a special one at the National Capital Trolley Museum! Your group of up to 45 people can enjoy the Museum, use our party room for two hours (see below) during regular Museum hours, and have a dedicated street car ride on our railway through Northwest Branch Park. We provide the trolley and party room, you provide the guests and celebration!

The Party Room must be cleaned and vacated by the end of your rental period. All food and beverages must be brought in or delivered. There are no kitchen facilities or vending machines on site.

What’s Included

Two (2) hours in our classroom for celebrations and snacks. Decorations welcomed and encouraged!
A private charter ride for your group of up to 45 people on one of our historic street cars! (45 people is the maximum capacity of our street cars, per railway safety guidelines).
Plenty of time for you and your guests to explore the museum, including exhibits in the Visitors Center, displays in Street Car Hall, and our silent movie theatre. You are welcome to continue to enjoy the museum after your allotted party room time until 5pm close.

Availability

Birthday Party and Special Occasion rentals are only available on Saturdays between 12 noon and 4pm. You are welcome to arrive 45 minutes early for set up and decorating the party room.

Pricing + Booking Policies

$400 total (includes admission, party room, and private street car charter)

$250 Private Charter Fee
$150 Facility Rental

A $250 Charter Fee is due no later than one week prior to your reserved date. Your reservation will be automatically cancelled if the Charter Fee is not received within one week of your reserved date. The remaining $150 balance is due upon arrival on the day of your reservation.

IMPORTANT: Submitting a booking request is NOT confirmation of your booking. Your booking is NOT complete until you receive your confirmation invoice from our coordinator! Thank you.

Private Rentals

The National Capital Trolley Museum gladly accepts requests for private rentals of our facilities outside of normal operating hours, dependent on staff availability. If you are interested in renting our outdoor or indoor facilities, or visit our Contact page to get in touch with our coordinator!
